Does Elegant Eyes offer any type of financing programs?
Yes! Elegant Eyes now has a program called "See Now, Pay Later," which allows you to purchase your eyeglasses, lenses, sunglasses and/or contact lenses without any interest for either 6 or 12 months. So, you can come to elegant Eyes and leave in style without paying anything out of pocket.
Do i have to pay tax when i buy my glasses?
We are a registered business in the State of New Jersey. All sales are subject to a sales tax. This tax will automatically be added to your total.
Do my children need sunglasses also?
Yes they do! Children's eyes are much more sensitive than adults eyes, because they are still developing. UV rays are very damaging to your eyes and because children typically spend a large amount of time outdoors, they should certainly have their eyes protected in order to prevent future problems caused by eye damage at a young age.
How do i go about getting my eyeglasses repaired if needed?
Well, the best way to have your eyeglasses repaired is to bring them into any Elegant Eyes location and we will do anything that your eyewear is in need of; whether that involves adjusting your nose pads, fixing your bent temples, replacing a missing lens or just simply cleaning the frame for you. This can all be done at any Elegant Eyes location.
Can i buy my eyewear or lenses online at ElegantEyes.com?
Not currently. You can browse many of our most popular designers online in our image galleries, but you still must visit one of our locations to actually purchase the eyeglasses and have them perfectly fitted to your face.
How old do i have to be in order to get my eyes examined alone?
There is no specific age that you must be in order to come into Elegant Eyes and get your eyes examined, but we would prefer if you were at least 16 year old if you were coming into to the office alone.
Do I have to have an appointment to see a Doctor of Optometry at Elegant Eyes?
It isn't required, but to avoid unnecessary waiting it's always a good idea to schedule an appointment. Many Independent Doctors of Optometry would prefer patients make appointments ahead of time. You can even schedule eye exams online.
How can I get a copy of my prescription?
If the prescription comes from Elegant Eyes, simply contact any optician or Doctor of Optometry at an Elegant Eyes near you and ask for a copy of your prescription. If the prescription came from another OD, you will need to contact that doctor.
How much will my lenses cost?
There are many factors that affect the price of lenses. Until we know what type of lens you want and what your prescription is, we can't accurately estimate the cost. To best answer this question you should visit your local Elegant Eyes.
Can I buy glasses without a prescription in the lenses?
Yes, we call them plano lenses. You can get them with the same great options as prescription lenses, including hip tints and anti-reflective and scratch resistant coatings. Don't forego a great fashion accessory just because you have good vision.
Do you offer prescription sports goggles?
Yes. We carry Rec Specs Sports Goggles that can be fitted with virtually any prescription.

Please allow up to four months for your request to be processed.
Will my insurance pay for my new designer eyeglasses?
All insurances function differently; but most likely, if you pick out a pair of expensive designer eyeglasses, you insurance will pay up to a set amount towards your new glasses and if there is still a balance left, you will be responsible for paying the balance with either cash, any major credit card or any other for of accepted payment.
Should i call my insurance to find out if Elegant Eyes is an authorized provider?
No. You can just call Elegant Eyes and one of our service representatives will be able to tell you if your insurance is accepted. If necessary, we will call your insurance company for you to confirm any further information if required.
What insurance plans does Elegant Eyes accept?
Elegant Eyes accepts EyeMed Vision Care and most major vision insurance plans, including Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross of California, UniCare, AIG, Cigna Vision and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. However, it is always best to confirm your benefits through your insurance provider.
Can Elegant Eyes fix the scratches on my lenses?
Scratched lenses is one of those issues that can only be resolved by replacing the old scratched lenses with a new set. Over time, lenses are worn out and any protective coatings that were originally added to the lenses can slowly break down. So, if you bring in a pair of old scratched up lenses, Elegant Eyes can send you home with a new pair of inexpensive lenses that will have new coatings and no distracting scratches on them.
Why do my lenses have scratches on them?
Well, your lenses can get scratched from many different activities. Firstly, you must be careful while cleaning your lenses, water should always be used because wiping dry lenses can scratch them because there may be small particles on your lenses that will scratch them.

How much does an eye exam cost?
An eye exam at Elegant Eyes for eyeglasses is $49 and if you are getting your eyes examined for contact lenses, the cost is $79.
Do i have to have my eyes examined again if i want to wear contact lenses?
Yes you do. A contact lens exam is slightly different from an eye exam for eyeglasses. Because the contact lenses will be sitting directly on your eyes, there are more comprehensive measurements that need to be taken in order to fit you with the proper lenses for your eyes. Contact lenses can cause can cause damage to your eyes and also induce eye infections if the wrong ones are worn, so you always want to have a professional doctor of optometry test and fit you with the correct contact lenses for your eyes.
How often do i need to get my eyes examined?
A comprehensive eye exam is necessary to ensure that you are not developing any new eye conditions and also just to confirm the overall health of your eyes. Our doctors of optometry recommend an examination at least every one to three years while you are between the ages of 18 to 60 and for those who are ages 61 and above, doctors recommend a full eye exam every year.
Do I have to get an eye exam at Elegant Eyes if I want to buy glasses from Elegant Eyes?
No. The Doctor of Optometry located within our store is available as a convenience to you. As long as you have a current, valid prescription from a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist, you can always buy glasses from Elegant Eyes.
